Post Office relocations into existing WHSmith stores complete

Throughout 2019 Firmingers, acting as cost consultants, supported WHSmith in the further increase in the number of Post Office branches that they run under a franchise arrangement.
Working closely with the delivery team and developing contractor agreements under a framework approach we assisted in successfully delivering 39 branches into existing WHSmith stores across England.
Firmingers managed initial budgets across the development, agreeing tenders, finalising accounts and providing regular cost reports to the project management team at WHSmith. Final account expenditure for shopfitting and M&E were managed 2% (£58k) under the original £2.8m budget.
The branches are directly managed supporting the long-term sustainability of Post Office branches and bringing longer opening hours for customers in many areas. The Post Office is committed to keeping their services at the heart of communities which is hugely important to people.
All branches have new serving positions, self-service machines, new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, signage, M&E, security, tills, IT, fittings, associated storerooms and secure fortress rooms.
